Where in Mexico should I take my girlfriend on a 4 night trip in mid-August?

Question

I am coming from San Francisco and was thinking seriously about Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan. I'm not trying to break the bank, but definitely don't want to go the super cheap route. I would really prefer an all-inclusive resort type place. All we are really looking for is sun, relaxation, plenty of drinks and swimmable ocean. Any and all suggestions accepted!!!

Google it, thats how I travel-always find the best deals. If you want to have a exclusive vac...go 5 star, if you want to have a good time and party-3 star. Mostly it should cost you no more then $2000.00, if its more....look somewhere else.

If you are looking for inexpensive try Ensenada, Rosario or Puerto Penasco.  Dont' forget your Mexico car insurance

I like Mazatlan better than PV.  Its prettier and has better accomodations.  How about Zihuatanejo?

Cacun is awsome! trust me its  beautiful! awsome beach and hotel suite. Perfect place to relax in.

San Fransisco to Mazatlam cheapest and shortest fly time.

Lots of things to do in Mazatlan for people of all ages. Miles of beach.  

I'm not into all-inclusive as I like to explore the community and go to restaurants that offer good local food at reasonable prices.
