Where in Miami should I look for a hotel?

I'm going to Miami in a few weeks and I need help on where exactly I should stay. I'd like to stay where there is a lot of attractions and things to do (shopping, eating, beach, people watching) but I also want to make sure it's affordable. Any suggestions?

Haha! wow killing and stabbing!, nah that's nonsense I'm an actual Miami Beach resident and that barely happens. Well if you want to take your vacation experience to the maximum extent of joy then I'd say check in the Royal Palms hotel in South Beach. It's incredible and you'll be near everything. If you're looking to have fun stay in Miami Beach don't stay on any of the big name hotels they're too expensive save your money to go to the clubs the beach shopping etc there are many hotels in the miami Beach area where u can get really good prices

well we stayed at the marriott in biscayne bay a bit pricey but very safe you have to be VERY careful with south beach at night i hear there are some killing and stabbing we went 10 years ago ...well have fun and stay safe!!!
