  1. Rome is Dar-ul-herb, so nothing islamic about it.

  2. what a question to be asked ... is matter if there is Muslims i think they don't bit did they

  3. There isnt a defined neighborhood.  The mosque that opened in 1995 is in the north area between the Univ and the Olympic Stadium

  4. There is none. I do not think so.

  5. Rome is very multicultural nowadays, but I don't think there is an islamic quarter as such.

    This from BBC news:

'The mosque was scheduled to open on the Esquiline hill, one of the seven hills of ancient Rome. The district houses people of widely different ethnic origins. They are served by seven Catholic churches, a Buddhist temple, a synagogue, a Zain prayer centre and a Chinese Evangelical church.

Rome also boasts the biggest mosque in Europe, built with Saudi money outside the city centre, about 3km (2 miles) from St Peter's Basilica. There are another three mosques and three Islamic prayer centres in the city, frequented by the growing number of Muslim residents. '
