My friend has gone travelling, she has started in Buenos Aires, and is planning on going across, then up through Chile, Ecuador, Columbia, then through central america to Mexico. Is there anywhere in particular she should avoid?

  1. South America is not another world. You should take care of yourself just like in anywhere. Say her: Enjoy it! It's really great.

  2. Most everywhere in S America is safe as long as you use common sense!  Don't dress really flashy, walk by yourself down the street at night, keep purses/personal items in your lap, and small things like this it is really safe.  The only people I ever heard of having problems (at least in the better parts of the towns) were generally walking alone or with one other person at night after drinking a lot.  Just pay lots of attention to your surroundings and you'll be fine.  I've heard that outside of larger cities in Columbia can be dangerous for Americans, but that might be just a rumor.

  3. you make it what you want it is safe  in Haiti if you go about your business and don't dress to fancy don't avoid any south America is beautiful specially Peru,Argentina,Brazil,Uruguay and Colombia.

i have traveled  to many countries including central America, i like Guatemala and Costa Rica too.
