  1. Barcelona...

  2. I have always wanted to attend La Tomatina.  Since 1944, each year on the last Wednesday of August in the little town of Buñol between 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm, in eastern Spain, people flock for the tomato war called the Tomatina. “Why?” you may ask. Well, the answer is simple: JUST FOR THE HECK OF IT!!

The weeklong festival features music, parades, dancing, and fireworks. On the night before the tomato fight, participants of the festival compete in a paella cooking contest.

  3. If you came to Spain, it would be unforgettable for all the wrong reasons, go somewhere where there is life, culture, politeness, where you get value for money, not in Spain....

  4. Try the site at the bottom for information about Madrid, Toledo, Aranjuez & Segovia. If this doesn´t take your fancy for new things try a yahoo search with a combination of "spain+......" with the .... signifying the activity that would make the holiday unforgettable for you.

Alternatively search "spain+fiestas" and this will give you information about the cultural activities that you wont see elsewhere. For example: La tomatina in Valencia (Tomato fight), San Fermin in Pamplona (Bull run through the city centre), San Isidro in Madrid (30 days of bull fights and parties). i´ve forgotten the name but the summer fiesta in Alicante where they shoot fireworks at one another and burn effigies is also interesting!

  11. Stay in Britain, there is nothing memorable about Spain

  12. If you are looking for somewhere by the sea, in/near a typically spanish town, you won't do better than Estepona.

Lovely Port, quaint old town, great beaches, not touristy, no Union Jacks and few tattooed Brits, just Spanish families enjoying the sun.

We stay at Villa Tranquilla (villa, converted into beautiful apts) with a heated pool and not too costly) Look at www.theextramileholidays.com

Madrid- like large cities here, cosmopolitan, heavily under construction

Sevilla- beautiful, 4th largest city, not coastal though

Granada- Alhambra palace is incredible, worth a day trip here

Marbella- nice but pricey, very touristy though not necessarily American tourists

Overall, I recommend the southern region (andalusia)
