Where in Switzerland is the best place to visit when renting an apartment by the week during October?

in October i would suggest to stay in a village at the border of the lake Geneva in the region Vevey - Montreux - Villeneuve (the language spoken in this part of Switzerland is French). this is on the opposite side of Geneva. this region is surrounded by wineyards and in October is vintage. it's also the region with the nicest sunsets :)

must sees are Chillon Castle, the city of Geneva, and if you like one of the most famous Swiss mountains, the Matterhorn in Zermatt (to reach from Montreux in less than 3 hours by train).

I just got back from an amazing vacation.  My boyfriend proposed to me in Gimmelwald, a small mountain village about 30-45 minutes outside Interlaken Ost.  If you like hiking or just stunning views it is a must see.
