In Togo you may try the Lome Lagoon, though it is quite polluted and generally overfished.A better bet is the Keta Lagoon in Ghana, about 40 km from the Togo border.There might also be some good opportunities on Lake Volta and the downstream Volta after the dam. Species include catfish, Tilapia and some carp varieties.However, though you seem to be a hobby fisher, you are in heavy competition with the local fishermen, whose livelyhood depends on their catch.


  2. If you are in Lome, go to the German Beergarden (on the main road going into town along the sea) and ask for the son of the owner.  I forget his name, but he has a small boat and will take people fishing.  We went deep-sea fishing, but he will know the area well enough fo fly fishing too.
