If you've ever visited Tunisia before, where did you visit?

I've been to...

Monastir

Tunis

Sousse

Kerkennah

Sfax

Nice places but I know that Djerba, Hamamett & Port El Kantouie are probably nicer locations no?

  2. Hi

I've been to Hammamet which is quite touristy but I liked it. Also been to Sousse for the day as an excursion and Tunis and stayed in Zaghouane for a night which is a lot less touristy. I'm going back to Tunisia this month, I'll be going to Hammamet Yasmine. I can't wait Iove it there! :)

  3. You've been to some nice cities - I'm especially partial to Monastir because that is where I live!

I have been all over the country of Tunisia, visiting both major cities and the smaller rural cities. It would be easier for me to list where I HAVEN'T been.

A few times a year my family goes on vacations with the sole purpose of exploring and visiting different parts of the country. My favorite cities are: Monastir, Hammam Bourguiba, and Tozeur.

There are a bunch of small cities that I truly love as well just because they have such a warm hospitable feeling to them.

Port El Kantaoui is a nice place. It is located in Sousse, just 10 km north of the centre ville. It is a popular vacation spot.

Hammamet is nice, and more mellow than Sousse and PEK. It has some wonderful beaches!

Djerba is a nice island. Very quiet and relaxing. The only real nightlife there is in the hotels.

If you are looking for a place to stay in the actual Sahara, there is an absolute gorgeous hotel in Ksar Ghilane called Pansea Ksar Ghilane. It is nestled in an oasis inside the Sahara. Instead of being a conventional hotel, it is a series of 60 tents set up, all with air conditioning/heating, private bathroom, but no tv or telephones in the tents. This is probably about a 8-10 hour drive south of Tunis.

I'm glad that you enjoy Tunisia so much! If ever you need assistance, please feel free to contact me any time.

  7. Been twice to Port El kantaoui. Wouldn't mind going again. It is lovely, quiet and relaxing. The locals very friendly, the marina very nice.

  8. I flew into monastir airport, i stayed in port El kantoue which i loved, we went on a day trip to Tunis which is very nice also a day trip to Hamennet which i didn't really like, we also went on a Cruise around the sea which was absolutely fab!!

  9. I like Hamamett best

But have you visited the magnificent roman city of Dougga in the desert?

I was just so bowed over by it. That it is in such a wonderful state of preservation and you can really see how the Romans lived

Even if you are not into stuff like this it is still amazing ..

And also amazing that while most of heard of other Roman cities so few have heard of this one - and yet it is amazing
