With scrap metal prices being so high, you could consider just popping that appliance out onto the curb. If it's anything like other parts of the country, someone will nab it soon.

Alternatively, put a notice on your local Craigslist.com, saying you have an appliance for scrap and that if someone wants it, you'll put it on the curb at a given time. That way, you can dictate the time for it to go.
