The city of tijuana comes right to the southern border of California. There are houses in some places that within 20 yards of the fence. A few years ago someone had a tunnel from his house to a parking lot in a duty free shop. A truck would pull over a manhole cover in the parking lot, and they would bring the drugs through a trap door in the bottom of the truck. This was being done directly under the eyes of hundreds of border patrol employees.

Tijuana is the city in Mexico that borders the southwestern most part of the state. The border city is San Ysidro,CA where the actual port of entry is, but the actual southwestern most city would be Imperial Beach.
