Where in the Philippines can I go to have good Mapo Tofu?

Restaurants, eateries, whatever - what place serves Mapo Tofu here?

My mom serves it best. but among resto, if you're in manila area, particularly, in sta.cruz or avenida area, go to wah sun, it is near arranque market, they serve it best. and very affordable. or you could also go to president's resto in chaina town.

or if u like u can cook your own

( i cook mine ^0^,)

1/2 kilo ground beef (or u can substitute ground chicken/pork) but check coz they have different cooking time

1 clove garlic

1 small onion

1 pack lee kum kee  mafo tofu sauce (available in supermarkets)

1 pack del tomato sauce 567g (depends on taste preference too if u want more sauce)

1 pack tofu slice ( japanese or soft tofu) - cubed

1tsp chili sauce ( optional)

saute garlice,onion and beef w/  1-2 tbsp cooking oil (any kind, but i prefer olive oil)

after the beef began to brown add a lil bit of water ( about 1/4 cup) add pepper and salt to taste

let simmer for 5-10 mins

after place the lkk mapo tofu then allow to boil, stir in low heat,

place the dl tomato sauce half at a time ( taste test if flavor is ok for you)

then allow to simmer for 5-10mins

then place the cubed tofu, stir occassionally and allow to simmer for atleast 15mins or check the beef if it's already done.

ready to serve w/ chili sauce ( if u want it spicier)

(preparation time 10 mins)

(cooking time - 20-30mins)

Try the Emerald Garden restaurant. It serves great mapo tofu!

Although it's located in Manila(just across manila bay) it still is worth the trip.

i would say go straight to china town,lots of

resto serving there,you could choose instead of going to one particular place which you will not get many selection.

i cant say names but you dont have to,

many signs you could see.

what really bothers me is that i like the chinese

food in phil compare here in china,how

could it be possible.
