  1. If you choose a good restaurant and just explain to the waiter on arrival what your condition means in practical terms, they are usually very accomodating and helpful, the staff certainly are at Shumi on St.James near Picadilly.


  2. For the benefit of the first poster, celiac disease is when the body fails to break down the gluten present in nearly all wheat foods.  The symptoms are excurciating difficult and many restaurants are off limits to those with the disorder.  However, if you specify that you have celiac disease and the restaurant is equipped to prepare alternate foods which do not contain gluten - then you're OK.
