Where in the bible can i find a verse/verses that say you should not smoke?

please give me some verses and an explanation, of why you shouldnt smoke. id like them to prove my point, that what you do should reflect godliness and bring glory to god, cause my dad doesnt believe me (lol). can some one find a verse/verses that prove this? thanks, and youll get a bonus ten pointts. :)

There are of course verses about taking care of oneself, but you will not find any verses specifically to do with smoking, at least of tobacco.  The tobacco plant is native to the western hemisphere, and was only known in Europe and the Middle East following the discovery of the "New World".

There isn't any. Smoking wasn't something they knew about until the 16th Century.

Anyhow,  I am not sure how having a quote from a book written thousands of years (which contradicts itself on many issues) about smoking would prove your point.  Maybe god smokes?

I don't think there is any way to prove that what you do should reflect "godliness and bring glory to god". That is why they can it faith and it is a religion. If there was a way to prove it then it wouldn't be either.

RE: someone else noting getting a quote about drinking.. watch out because there are many verses in the bible that both are in support and are against drinking.. again the bible contradicts itself.

well, there was no smoking then... so those lines don't exist. I'm sure there are lines against self harm, which smoking IS because you are deteriorating your lungs and every cigarette is a minute off of your life

Okay so I really read around on the net for this question trying to find something...

I have read the bible from the beginning and am not done yet but almost and I thought I saw something about blowing smoke from body but I can't find the exact scripture so I may just have picked it up from somewhere sooo I did find this site that explains what you would want to know....

it is a sin to smoke it is harmful to the body and that is all over the bible that it is not good to harm body ....

*Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man."

*herefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."

There is more at the site provided good luck and it is hard to prove point to smokers because thats all they care about is smoke...i smoked for 6 years and quit realized it is a dirty and pointless habit for idol minds...

I don't believe anyone smoked in biblical days, so you are better off finding a verse about excessive drink or some other habit.
