Where in the south is a good place to go camping and have a camp fire?

me and a few friends would like to go camping in the woods/forest away from other people so we can have a bit of a camp fire cook some food on it and chill out and have a laugh with out the worry of keeping people awake or upsetting other campers. maybe a river/stream/lake would be good aswell.where would be a good location in the south of uk

as far as I'm aware there aren't any campsites that would allow an open fire ... when my kids were in scouts they were allowed open fires on scouts camp sites but only under supervision from qualified scout leaders

when you see the likes of Ray Mears on TV making camp fires then you can be assured that it will be on private property with the full agreement of the landowner

The UK Still has Open spaces left in it ? Wow ! A small Island like that as densely populated I would think would not have any places left that isn't filled with people

There aren't many but checkout this site and click on "Campfires" It's got a list of all the campsite in th UK that still allow them.
