  1. i live in western PA and we have them all over the mountain side

  2. West Texas, New Mexico, Arizona... a lot of places use them. Do you remember a few years ago when Ted Kennedy had a fit about the wind turbine farm that "disrupted his view" from the Kennedy compound? They are a source of energy...

  3. Central California

    West Coast Scotland

    West Coast Australia (near Perth)

Many more: there must be a website somewhere with locations?????

  4. anywhere it is windy, in scotland in particular  you can see them dotted around the highlands  Oban and taynult have a few wind farms. My husband builds them.

  5. Wind power is the conversion of wind energy into useful form, such as electricity, using wind turbines. In windmills, wind energy is directly used to crush grain or to pump water. At the end of 2007, worldwide capacity of wind-powered generators was 94.1 gigawatts.[1] Although wind currently produces just over 1% of world-wide electricity use,[2] it accounts for approximately 19% of electricity production in Denmark, 9% in Spain and Portugal, and 6% in Germany and the Republic of Ireland (2007 data). Globally, wind power generation increased more than fivefold between 2000 and 2007.[1]

Wind power is produced in large scale wind farms connected to electrical grids, as well as in individual turbines for providing electricity to isolated locations.

Wind energy is plentiful, renewable, widely distributed, clean, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions when it displaces fossil-fuel-derived electricity. The intermittency of wind seldom creates insurmountable problems when using wind power to supply a low proportion of total demand, but it presents extra costs when wind is to be used for a large fraction of demand.[3]

  6. Fields , large fields. I live in Albany New York and there are hundreds of them out in western New York on the Tug Hill plateau ...

  7. There a numerous wind turbines in California.  The Altamont Pass between the San Francisco Bay and the Central Valley is covered with turbines.  In Southern California there are a lot of turbines between Los Angeles and Palm Springs.

  8. Finland, Norway and the Netherlands and several other countries of Europe who are far more Earth conscious that North America.

  9. Often flat lands, close to the sea. Where lots of wind are present. Germany is the record holder for most power produced from wind power. A lot of countryes have wind turbines.

  10. They are used all over the place, from simple windmills for grinding flour, to boat charging systems, to large wind turbines in most of Europe for generating electricity.

Any wind driven machine is a wind turbine.

  12. Countries that have wind. There are some in the UK where I live but not many.

  13. to generate electricity.

  14. usually in windy places... also since they are considered ugly they are usually put in remote places... e.g. countrysides and i think the sea too...

  15. There are thousands here in California, USA.

  16. The country that generates and uses the most wind power is Germany, producing 22,000 Megawatts annually.  It has more than 18,000 windmills.

The top 5 wind power countries:

    1. Germany 22,000 MW

    2. USA 16,000

    3. Spain 15,000

    4. India 8,000

    5. China 6,050
