is our HDMI port on the xbox 360? I just bought a HDTV and the answers I have read suggest that the HDMI has better quality. We bought a HDMI cord just in case we needed it, but we cannot find the HDMI port on our 360. We have the power, Ethernet, and AV ports along with 3 USB ports but thats it. Do we not have one? are the component cables enough to give me the quality picture I want from my new TV??? PLEASE HELP

  1. Just stick with the component cable.  That's what I did and it looks great.  Oh, you need to buy a special HDMI cable that  is specially made for 360's.  It plugs into the 360 at the same spot the component cables do.

  2. Yes, is the same with components 720p or 1080i, the difference is the digital signal in HDMI, but the analogical signal provides the same quality.

  3. Yes, component cables will carry HD signal.

  4. Last years xBox360 did not have HDMI.

Yes - component can carry all the video signals up to 1080p without a problem.

The HDMI port looks like an over-sized USB port. You said you found 3, but usually you find:

    1 USB port

    1 RJ45 jack for networking

    1 HDMI jack

Check again, you may have just mistaken the HDMI jack for the USB jack.

I remember - the HDMI jack is right next to a L/R RCA output on a recent xBox. Look for this.

  5. The standard XBox360 doesn't have it. You have to upgrade to the enhanced model to get HDMI output. Component can get you HD but only up to 1080i.
