The reason why you hear about it, is because it is the "highest" Lake in the World (meaning it resides at the highest altitude) - It's also HUGE!!

There were also arguments, on whether to initially name it "Cacatiti," but those were shot down <I'm kidding>

You mean Titicaca? It's a lake at the border of Bolivia and Peru
