Where is McCain's accent from?

he whistles when he says anything with an s in it - is that part of his accent or like a lisp or something?

It's from Vietnamese rifle butts to his face.  He has false teeth as the Vietnamese knocked them out.  I don't know if they are dentures or attached to his jaw though.

He probably has false teeth due to the amount of time he spent as a POW in Viet Nam.  Many of those who were kept in POW camps didn't have tooth brushes or tooth paste and of course while they were there they had no dental care and so often them lost their teeth.  Also their diets were not optimum either.  So I would venture that Senator McCain has false teeth and that is causing the whistling sounds.  Also while he was born into a military family, his family settled in Virginia and so you might be hearing somewhat of a southern accent.  I am sure he has tried very hard to lose the accent over the years.

Try to listen to WHAT he says not the way he said it.  It is the sign of an educated man.  The 12% of the populations that will decide who is elected can't or don't read or listen to what is said!  Our election will determined by mindless idiots who decide who to vote for on Fri before the Tues election.  The only thing they base that decision on is a 30 sec comical on Friday evening.  God we are screwed!
