He said that if he is needed down there he will be there to help  the victims ,so there.

But he is wise to keep a distance from Bush and his surrogates.

Why should he have been there?  I don't know about you, but I would rather have him out doing something useful than waste time waiting around in Louisiana for something to happen.

Of course I still won't vote for him because of his choice of VP.

He was just on CNN. He said there is not reason to bring a big secret service detail down there that only distracts resources from the people that really nead them just for a photo op. If they tell him later he will be down there in a 'hot second'.

Pleae tell me what good did McCain having a press conference from an area being evacuated do? Was he helping evacuate people or filling sandbags? If not he was just in the way.
