Hi, I have been looking for Oejendorf on a map of Hamburg, but I can't find it. Does anyone know where it is located? It would be a lot of help if you could let me know and if you do know where it is, what kind of area it is as I am looking at an apartment to rent there and have never been in Hamburg before.

this link takes you to maps.google.de

    typ in : HAMBURG OEJENDORF

than the whole eastern part of Hamburg pops up with lots of extra information on the left side of the page (shops,Hotels, restaurants etc.)

    guten Abend

  2. It's in the eastern part of Hamburg. Try this one:

You have to enter Hamburg, Öjendorf (not with Oe...) - then you should find it.

Sorry, just read the last part of your question:

If you're going to rent an appartment there, try to get one as far away from Horn (a neighbouring-district of Öjendorf) as possible. It's got no good reputation.

When you're looking for a flat there try to find a 'Genossenschaftswohnung' (one from a cooperative building society). E.g. Baugenossenschaft Freier Gewerkschafter (http://www.bgfg.de/). They are usually cheaper.

I don't know anything further about Öjendorf, except that there is a big cemetery, as I live on the other side of Hamburg.

    This may help you: http://www.öjendorf.de/

    Good luck

  3. Hey Eva,

as Bernd mentioned, look at google maps. Öjendorf is in the east of Hamburg. Not worse, but a little bit outside. If you want to go from Öjendorf to International Court of the Sea you have to go first about 15 min by bus, 30 min by subway (U-Bahn), 15 min by railway (S-Bahn) and about 10 min by bus. If you hire a car it will be problematic in rush-hour. If you go outside, try to take a flat near S-Bahn for S-Bahn is as double as fast as U-Bahn and the next is U-and S-Bahn are not on the same platform. You see I am living 5 km east of Ojendorf, but when I am going to Blankenese I'll take S-Bahn. It takes me 25 min to go to central station, there I'll leave the train, wait 1 min and take the next one and 20 min later I am in Blankenese.

I have here a map of HVV railways for you S-Bahn is the fastes.

    For connections look here:

    Map of railways:

    http://www.hvv.de/en/timetables-lines-ro...

you can download the map as pdf and enlarge it.

Here you find general informatio about HVV.

I have not found a good map of buslines.

The only map I found was this link here, but they don't have an english site.

    http://www.mopo.de/

    click on "Verkehr - Stadtplandienst"

then you get a link to another site

on the left you click on "Verkehr & Bahnhöfe"

On top there are  3 fields

    1. is zip code let it free

    2. "Ort" you write "Hamburg"

over the third there are two selections

    a) "Straße" You write "Am internationalen Seegerichtshof"

then it shows you the location of your job

in the near you see a violet line with an S and the numbers 36, 39, 286 that mean there goes "Schnellbus" -lines 36, 38 and 286. Each point on such a line is a stop.

    b) if you select "Objekt/ Ortsteil" you can look for an object like for excample an hospital (you have to know the name) or a part of the city like for excample  "Öjendorf". But sorry, the map needs the "Ö". If you have no German keybord there is a posibility with the Alt key and the numeric keypad. I don't know how. Ask here.

On the top is a is a red rider you can enlargen the map, but buslines are only shown at scale 10000.

    Greetings from Hamburg, Germany

    Heinz
