  1. They still here in China. We have two more athletes who will compete.

Well they said it's not about winning, it's about participation...yan sabi ng mga Chinese, pag natalo sila...like in Basketball and Soccer

So yan na rin line natin...

  2. I believe there is only one medal hopeful left for the Philippines.

Realistically, there was only the lone boxer & the two taekwondo jins who were really in any position to claim a medal in this year's games.

The lone boxer & one of the jins were again victims of spotty officiating, which has always been the downfall of most FIlipino Olympians, even Mansueto Velasco who won the bronze medal in the 1992 summer olympics for the country who should have gone on to fight for the gold that year.

  3. Your question is the answer. Where are the Philippines?

  4. Training this early for the next Olympics.

  5. The Philippines has always and still is safely nestled between the South China Sea, the Celebes Sea, the Philippine Sea, and the Pacific Ocean. The Philippines has always been there for at least 4000 years now.

EDIT: Oh, you're asking "How's the Philippines doing in the 2008 Olympics?". If that's what your asking then ask it that way :P. I don't see why we have all this reprehension over our poor standing at the Olympics. We haven't done well in the Olympics for more than 3 decades now, it's foolish to see it changing any time soon, at least while our government doesn't improve the sports instruction in our schools.

All we can do now is be proud for our athletes. I have competed for the Philippines before (albeit in Math, not in Sports), and even now, when I watch the winners podiums, I can't help shed a tear, because I know how much hard work they had to go through to even get there. And then you realize that there are those who don't even come close to the podiums, and they, too, had to undergo the same hardships, but were not able to taste victory. It must be really heartbreaking for them, when all they wanted to do was make the country proud.

Support them from the comfort of our homes is the least we can do.

EDIT2: And when I think about it further, they can spend 220 million in kickbacks on government projects, when P100,000 on our contestants training can go a very long way. The idiocy that goes on in our government never ceases to astound me.

  6. i think they tried their best but it's not enough to make it have a medal in the olympics...

  7. no medals at all. sad!

  8. drinking ^_^

  9. Hanging over there along with others, that's it! (phil.flag)

  10. Probably in the corner, smoking and gambling.

84 years since this be-damned country joined the Olympics, no gold medal. There is almost no priority on sports here. And those mathematicians from out of nowhere would say that math is not given a priority. Yeah right.

  11. they are there to break the philippine record, not to be a world class athlete.

  12. still in beijing.
