  1. The thing about Ricardo Lopez is that he is one of the most underrated boxers in history because of his weight. I will definitely put him on the top 40. Ruben Olivares was a great boxer. I would rank him top 30 or 40.

  2. Rubin Olivaries in my opinion wouldn't crack the top 30 all time, probably not even top 40. Ricardo Lopez on the other hand is a little tougher to place. Lopez is definitely the best strawweight of all-time. Now, comparing him to other greats in history at every weight class makes this extremely tough. Lopez retired undefeat with over 50 fights, which is difficult to do in any era or division and he represented something that most, if not all fighters should want to possess..... speed, power, defense and EXCELLENT technique.

Pound-for-pound all-time, I don't think Lopez being placed inside the top 30, would be crazy.

  3. in the all time top 50 of modern fighters !!!

  4. a few years ago, the ring magazine listed it's "80 best fighters form the past 80 years,

    ruben is listed at 29

    ricardo is listed at 70

prior to 80 or so years ago, there were great fighters such as jack johnson, bob fitzsimmons, jimmy wilde etc who might be higher up than lopez in the "of all time" lists, but these lists are subjective as everyone has their own opinion.......but it's a starting point when compiling your own lists.
