Annette K is correct but I wanted to add that Rue Cler is most easily identified by the presence of hordes of braindead American tourists all clutching Rick Steves' guidebook with the fervor of disciples grasping Holy Writ and  marching in lockstep under the delusion that by doing what 10 million other purchasers of his book are doing they are seeing the "undiscovered" Paris.


  2. Rue Cler is in the 7th arrondissement and is a small street between rue Grenelle and rue Saint Dominique. It has several lovely specialty shops (butcher, cheese shop, green grocer, wine merchant etc)

    It is nowhere near Montmartre, though with the metro everything in Paris is sort of close.
