Where is TV out?

I currently have a camcorder that can record TV. Unfortunately, I can't find the TV out on my TV! I tried plugging it in where the DVD player is in but it only gives me the audio! And I looked in the instruction guide too! It's a Samsung TFT-LCD TV (I think) if that helps anyone...

  1. The best way to record a tv program is not with a camcorder but with a VCR or DVD recorder.  They are specifically made to do just that.

The other problem is that most camcorders do not have a "video input" connection because they are designed to record whatever is seen through the lens and heard through the microphone.

If your TV has a "video out" and a "audio out" you can use that to connect to a VCR or DVD recorder.   But they can also record directly from analog cable also.

I could give a better answer if I knew exactly what you are trying to do.

  2. Not all TV's have TV/Video out. This option is usually on higher end TV's.  Since the TV itself really IS the TV out (all internal connections), many do not include it.

    DVD Player is Video IN.

Do you have a VCR?  You can record TV via the VCR tuner (moot poot though).
