Where is a Good and Safe place to bodyboard that is not too crowded.?

Question

Some where near(willing to travel 50 miles tops) Huntington Beach (too crowded)

If private: how do I obtain access legally . Thanks for your time. May God bless you guys

Newport jetties are pretty good, but watch out for the huge south swells during the summer, they destroy bodyboarders!  A safe place for a beginning / intermediate bodyboarder is Sunset Beach (Anderson Street), or even Bolsa Chica. Good waves and not too crowded.

huntington is your best bet. but you gotta wake up before 8:30 when its not crowded and choppy.(the water is about 64 at huntingto nright now...very warm)

I would say Newport Beach is a great spot. I know it seems crowded but there are so many jetty's that most the time you can find a pretty open beach.
