Where is a cool place in Dallas to have lunch and go shopping?

So my friends and I are going to the Rangers/Yankees game on Thursday and we're going up early to drive around and have fun in Dallas/Arlington (not Ft. Worthless) and are looking for a cool place to have lunch and possibly do some shopping and such. The closer to the Ballpark the better, but it's not a requirement as we will be getting up there mid-day and have plenty of time before the 7pm start time. Food type doesn't really matter, though it'd be really cool if there was a place with many different restaurants and shops and such.

Thanks!

  1. Northpark ... is a great place to visit ... outstanding shopping .... and some good restaurants to boot!

This link will give you an idea of stores and food ... enjoy!

  2. If you want to be somewhat close to the Ballpark and Arlington you could hit Las Colinas.

Or, just north of the airport is the Gaylord Texan Hotel - it's pretty cool, has some shopping, and has some nice places to eat inside of it.

  3. the west end market place, its right downtown, and theres multi levels of shops

also outside theres planet hollywood and the butcher block

  4. Mi Cocina in West Village will be good for lunch and great for shopping.

  5. North Park Mall or the Galleria in Dallas both have great places to eat, not just food court places.

  6. I second the person who said North Park Mall.  The stores are wonderful and they have a great variety of food places from fast food to sit down.  There is even a movie theater there if you have time to catch one.

ANDISEXYTOO - Wow you are way behind, Planet Hollywood hasn't been in downtown for almost 10 years and the mall shut down like 2 years ago.

  7. Southlake shopping centre.

  8. The Parks Mall in Arlington (lots of traffic around it so plan at game time) is a very nice mall with a wide variety of stores.    It's surrounded by restaurants.  If you go there you'll avoid city traffic.

  9. town east mall in mesquite tx or grapevine miles mall in grapevine tx

  10. There are lots of malls to eat at three good ones are NorthPark Mall (it has high quality & great food in the mall), the Galleria has some amazing restaurants but these two are on the more expensive side.

Starting in Arlington, you have the parks mall which has some many stores, there is a ton of fast food with in, plus a Cheesecake Factory. There are a million restaurants around the parks mall as well.

If you thinking more on the trendier side you might wanna try The West Village (at McKinney Ave & Lemmon in Dallas) there is a movie theater (mostly Indie films), great food and shopping.

Another trendier side would be Mockingbird Station (@ Mockingbird & N. Central Expressway) there is some great food in this area as well as in Mockingbird Station, again a movie theater (Indie as well), tons of shopping, but then you have lower & upper Greenville right there with tons of restaurants and quirky shops.

    Good Luck!

PS Planet Hollywood has been closed forever and the Market place is closed right now, but there are still Restaurants in that area & a few little shops
