Question:

Where is a good Italian restaurant in the Loop of Chicago?

About 20 of us are going down the Chicago for the weekend and want some good Italian within the neighborhood of the Silversmith Hotel (10 S. Wabash). Anybody know of a place close by that isn't a chain, isn't incredibly expensive and is close enough a cab ride won't kill us on cost? Thanks in advance.

  1. I agree with the others...Italian Village (71 W Monroe) is very good. Also, Tutto Italiano at 501 S. Wells or Scoozi! at 410 W Huron are both excellent. I've also heard that Petterino's at 150 N Dearborn is very good.

  2. The Italian Village is your best bet in the actual Loop area...however, a short cab ride will get you to "Little Italy" on Taylor Street where Bacchanalia's is the very best. NOT too expensive...doesn't look like much from the outside (it's not as fancy as Rosebud or anything) but the food is incredible. Have fun!

  3. Quartino 626 North State. This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. It's basically Italian tapes. Great for big groups who can share different foods and awesome atmosphere.

  4. Antonio's on lakeshore drive

  5. The best in the city & the closest to your hotel is Italian Village / Vivere. See the link below>>>>>

  6. Volare is a short cab ride away and has tasty italian.

I'll also second the recco for Italian Village.

Additionally you may want to check into a place called Rosebud as well. Some of the best in the city!
