Where is a good holiday destination in the winter?

i want to go on holiday with my girl mates in October as its my friends 21st. Where would be hot and good fun? Without being to expense...(Would go in summer but my friend wants to be away for her actual birthday).Thinking europe or a bit furthur. Als o tenerife is being considered...have any of you been there at that time of year?xx

I rate Cyprus as one of the best holiday destinations. It can be too hot in mid summer but in October is near ideal.

Not too expensive either and no language problems either (Except maybe the Bulgarian waiter).

Tenerife is great and i wouldnt be put off going to Las Americas as there is so much more to it than people make out.

I have been there 3 times (twice with friends and once with the hubby and it was great each time).

Also if money is an issue (it is with most people) than Las Americas will be one of the cheapest places to go in Tenerife, also some of the other resorts there are quiet.

Tenerife is great, even in December; when I was there it was still about 17 - 20 degrees during the day which is good for that time of year. Went for the nightlife mostly though!

Canaries are good at that time of year, hotter than most of the rest of Europe and reasonably priced to get to. Tenerife is probably the liveliest of the islands but I would avoid Playa de Las Americas (the main resort) it is a bit like Skegness in the heat!

Fuerterventura is nicer and quieter with better beaches in my opinion.
