My wife and kids and I are going to the UK in two weeks. We'll be spending most of our time in and around London (staying in Watford), but we want to visit Cambridge from the 15th through the 18th (or 19th) and need a place to stay. Should we look for a hotel, a B&B, a flat, a hostel, what?

  1. Cambridge is very popular with tourists. I suggest that you look up B&Bs and guest houses on these websites. Hotels tend to be very expensive for what they are, although the Gonville and the Regency are as reasonable as it gets. There is a Travel Lodge outside the City centre (beyond the railway bridge) and there are frequent busses in/out. If you’re in a car DO NOT take it into the city centre – the one way system is a nightmare and parking is ridiculously expensive.

  2. look for a hotel maybe near a beach or sum place with a beautiful view tht ur family would appreciate

  3. i would suggest a B&B , i stayed in one and it was great

  4. depends whether you've got your own transport or not ... if you have a car I'd say look at the chains of motels/hotels such as Travelodge, Holiday Inn, etc because you can get family rooms for 2 adults and 2 children which can work out reasonable

if you are relying on public transport then you need a place that's convenient for rail stations and buses ... in that case maybe a B+B might be better ... for a flat or similar self-catering place during August (which is peak season) they're probably only going to rent by the week, not just for a few nights, although it's always worth checking it out
