Where is a good place in Europe to live for a young American?

I'm (19) living in the south of Germany right now as an au pair, but soon I'll be done with my contract, and I want to continue living in Europe afterwards.

I'm down for living just about anywhere, somewhere with English or German speakers would be preferred though.

Do you know anything about how I can legally get a job and housing as an American? Any other regulations? Have you been to any places in Europe and know any cities good for young people, easy to find work, fun to live, ect?

  1. Try Cheltenham in England, look for jobs in 'The Lady Magazine' you can probably find it on the internet.

Oxford or Cambridge are great for young people as well.
