  1. The best place to look for a set of clubs would be on eBay. Good brands are Titleist, Nike, Callaway. I have the old Nike Sling Shot, I've had the for about five years and they work really good for me.

    Have a good one...

  2. I've answered a question similar to this before and have a great way for you to get a fantastic set of clubs for well under $250. http://golfbestbuy.com/. They have all sorts of clubs for all sorts of people. They are knockoff, but they are brand new and copy the great clubs out there (within the same set). You won't be able to find brand new 460cc drivers, with everything else for under $250 very easily. In no way am I affiliated with this company. I just found them a few weeks ago when looking for a starter set for my wife. To save even more money, see if they are selling the set you like on eBay. You can usually get them even cheaper (low $100s)! I would probably suggest one of these sets:

I might suggest men's clubs (assuming you are male):

Again, look on eBay for prices far lower than what they sell them for on the website.

The clubs I'm looking at for my wife are $250 on the website but auctioning out for $100 on eBay. And it is sold by the same company so you dont have to worry about scams.

When you get older and you're all done growing and you have grown into your game (around the end of highschool or a little after), I would get a non-knockoff set of clubs that fit your game completely. This is EXACTLY how I did it and I'm now a sub-5 handicapper (and I only started my 2nd yr of HS). It works.

Knockoffs seem scary to use, but youre not going to lose any respect on the course with them. If money is an issue, you're going to get the most bang for your buck with these.

If you don't want knockoffs, then I would go to a pro shop and see what clubs "look good" and then go to eBay and try and find a similar "used' set.  This will be a good way to save money.

My last set of clubs were brand new and cost well over $2000 total.  Looking back at it, it was a mistake.  I love using eBay now for my purchases.  Got a new 460cc Callaway driver that sells new for $400 and got it slightly used for just over $100.  This, of course, is just to give you reference.

If you are a male between 5'3" and 6'1" then I would just go with standard length golf clubs.

  3. Go to a sporting good store like d**k's which carries several brands and grades of clubs.Tell them you are interested in an inexpensive set since you are a beginner but you want a decent matched set at a very reasonable price. Also indicate if they give you a snow job, they will be meeting with " Bubba "  and he accepts no excuses.

  4. If I was you I would go to   http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/ they have great prices what they are is liquidators of previous years models and they sell at really low prices and these clubs are brand new and have full warranty you should check it out I do not think you will be disappointed.

    Good Luck.

  5. you should go to golf galaxy they have lots of used or new clubs for good prices.

  6. I would suggest:

    GolfSmith

    Edwin Watts

    Golf Galaxy
