I've found it impossible to find good athletic shoes not made with some leather. And so many coats have animal products? Help!

  1. Kenneth Cole has a line that is non-leather.  I think it's Unlisted.

You can do a search online.  Just type in vegetarian or vegan shoes or cruelty-free clothing/shoes.  There's a shoe store called Moo Shoes, I think.

I can't help a lot with athletic shoes.  I don't really wear sneakers except for Chucks, but I did get a pair of Champion sneakers that were all cloth and patent leather.  Granted they were kids' shoes (I got TINY feet!) from Payless, but if Champion made kids' shoes without leather, they might have something for adult feet.  So, it's worth a try anyway.

Good luck!  Shoes are the hardest!  I thought I bought a nice pair of dress shoes all cloth once only to realize later the soles were leather.  It never dawned on me to check the soles!

And for coats, I have a gorgeous winter coat from Burlington Coat Factory, no leather.  I think it's wool though, so if you're looking for vegan, that doesn't help.  Try looking in vintage clothing stores or Goodwill or Salvation Army.  I found two of the best winter coats from places like that.  No leather.  They were wool or acrylic.  And they were in perfect condition so don't let the idea of second-hand scare you off.

It looks like you can find non-leather athletic shoes from these companies: Adidas, New Balance, Nike, Puma, Reebok, and Payless Shoe Source.

    Good luck!
