Where is a good place to eat in San Antonio close to a main rode to College Station?

im going to meet a guy in texas that ive never met before and im seeing family in SA and he lives in CS so hes coming down to meet me for lunch and then were going back to CS so we want a place to meet for lunch where itll be easy to get back on our way to CS without getting lost

well you have to go 35 to san marcus and then detour from there to get to hwy 21, so i say meet in san marcus since you have not met this man before, you will be closer to san antonio in case he gives you the heebee jeebee's

San Antonio and College Station are 170 miles apart. It still isn't hard.

If he lives in College Station, unless he's some kind of foreigner he probably knows how to get to San Antonio. It isn't hard. You take Highway 21 out of Bryan all the way southwest to San Marcos. You get on Interstate 35 south and take that into downtown San Antonio.

Even getting to College Station from Highway 21 in Bryan is easy (FM 2818 or Highway 6, depending on the part of town), but he'll know that.

Do you want to meet halfway (I assume you both have cars)? If so, consider Bastrop. You'd take I-35 north to San Marcos. Get off at Exit 204-B. Turn right at Highway 80. About a half mile down you'll bear left onto Highway 21. I do not remember if the sign off I-35 says Texas 80 and Texas 21 or just 80. In any case, that's the exit. You get off, go right at the light, go a half mile, and bear left onto 21. Take that about 40 miles into Bastrop.

As for where to eat, there are a ton of chain restaurants in Bastrop. It is a huge change from the one cafe and one McDonald's that used to mark you entering and leaving Bastrop. (Now Bastrop is a bedroom community of Austin.)
