It depends on your budget. The Beerodrome is good for seafood and steak at a reasonable price. Also, the pub the Ivy House has a pretty decent thai restaurant above it.

For more pricy fare, go along Chancery lane for Gauchos.

Pearl is v v expensive but LOVELY. ...and you might spot celebs.

I usually walk down to covent garden (a 5 min walk) where there are 100s of places.

i don't know how far it is i think around 10mins but new tayyabs is the friggin best indian restaurant in town

gaucho grill is an amazing argentinian steak restaurant just off holborn the menu is expensive but if you can afford it go for it the other dishes are great too, i would heavily recommend the churazco de lomo which is a spiral cut fillet steak marinated in garlic chilli parsley and olive oil, its the best!!! Its the chancery branch but it is much closer to holborn that they let on!

Pearl is the best restaurant, part of The Chancery Court Hotel, but it's expensive.

Sushi Hiroba is a lot of people's favourite on Kingsway.

And My Old Dutch is good when it's good. Depends on the mood of the staff though ....
