  1. Why don't you try either Cabo San Lucas or Riviera Maya? My wife and I have been to both but frequent the Riviera Maya area. It is about 45 minutes sough of Cancun and boasts some of the nicest resorts (all-inclusive) I have ever seen. Our favorite is named the Palladium Festival Grande; we are headed there for the third time in May. We went to the Gala (now Sandos) Playacar for our honeymoon in 2002 and it was also a great place. Its hard to beat the value in the area! We tend to avoid Cancun as it can be a pretty young (and drunk) crowd.

We went to Cabo and stayed in a time share place. It was nice and within walking distance to the town. The town is pretty cool and there are lots of places to eat, drink and shop.

It really depends on whether or not you want to go all-inclusive or not. Either way, you'll have a great time!

  2. No!! Dont go to Acapulco, is now longer the place it used to be. I have been to most known beaches in Mexico and I would recommend you three depending on the kind of trip you are affording to take:

If you just want to go to someplace where you can relax not that expensive go to Mazatlan which is in the state of Culiacan. The ambient is very relaxed, EXCELLENT seafood and the beach is ok.

If you are willing to go a little bit deeper into Mexico, go to Puerto Vallarta, the place is great, lot of things to do, the beach is not the best you can find but its allright.

If you want to spend some money and have a memorable anniversary go to Cancun. It is located to the eastern most tip of Mexico. The beach is the best you will ever find, there is a great variety of resorts and lot of things to do and lot of places to visit. Great place to relax too.

Whatever you chose, hope you have a good time!

  3. I would recommend you visit the heart of Mexico, what we call the Bajio area, and where the major colonial cities are: Queretaro, Guanajuato City, San Miguel de Allende, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes.

Beaches are sometimes too overcrowded and full of tourists, and it limits you if you are really interrested in getting to know the locals, the culture and the real mexican food!!

And the best thing is that it is not very expensive.

Oh, and if you do decide for this route, don't forget to bring your camera! There are lots of beautiful sights.

  4. Ok, I go to Chetumal every year to be with my husbands family. Its located on the belize border and its very quiet and beautiful in the state of Quintana Roo. You can also go to Belize in the "free zone " and do some shopping. And go see the beautiful Bacalar Laguna de siete colores Lagoon of 7 colors. Remember to take with you when you go to Mexico Sun cream an drink plenty of bottled water.

Wherever you choose remember to relax and enjoy your time together~

  5. I love Cuernavaca.  It is a beautiful city in the heart of Mexico about an hour away from Mexico City.  The only problem is its not by the beach.  Acapulco is okay....I've been there twice and will be returning in March.  It is definately for the younger crowd and the city changes with what time of year you go.

  6. personally i dont like big cities, so i love Yelapa.  It is inexpensive, safe, and fun.  it is in Jalisco, near PV.  it is only accesible by boat so you need to go to Boca de tomatlan (about a 45 minuete drive from PV, and just ask on the beach for a water taxi (which are incredibly fun and a beautiful ride.)
