Where is a good place to go for hoildays and why?

I would say New York City. It is so pretty just walking through the streets of midtown (Manhattan). The Rockefeller tree and the ice skating rink in central park. If you are going with family, I would definately head to NYC. I have gone there every Christmas for the past 3 years and it's different every time.

Well on a personal count i love Venice in Italy. The magic washes over you and just the sight of it makes you awestruck. First thing to look for is where you would in your mind like to go. That is the only thing that can really convince you to go. Second think of destination in a central aspect. How close it is in England or France you are central to european countries more choices in that. Third it is the cost. Take the cheapest flight possible. Fourth, Good accommodation can enlighten any bore of a holiday. Look for your place in this order and your problem is resolved. I'd say and european country is suffient, France, Italy, england  but then again its your choice!!

If you want to relax, go somewhere familiar. Go to your favorite lake or a good fishing spot in the mountains, somehwere were you can be comfortable. The last thing you want to do is go somewhere you don't know very well while TONS of people are out because it's a holiday! There are times for going to Europe or going to see the big city, but during holidays is not that time.
