Well, I live in SC so I wouldn't be too much help but here are 3 places I can suggest....and these are what I'd do:

Go to a movie

Go to a bar

Or to a club...

To church prayer meetings, join a book club, meet friends for dinner at a classy restaurant, The movies etc.

Phil's Grill on 7th between atlantic and pacific or go to the Tuna.  If you want a quieter night and a little more sophistication go downtown by McArthur Mall and go to the Hippo or there is a Tappas bar that I can't remember the name of.  Mo' Mcnalley's is also downtown and good.
