Where is a good place to go skiing in Europe at New Years to get snow?

We are a group of approx 7 beginners who would like to keep costs down but have good apres ski. What sort of accomodation should we look for also?

go to St Moritz! It's the worlds first ski resort and they have awesome snow. For a more cost effective trip, maybe Kizbhuel (sp?)in Austria

for absolute snow sure - got to be finland, great conditions, the best ski instructors my children have ever had and quiet - no queues at the lifts..... we ski at least a month a year every year - over 2 annual trips & can honestly say its up the as the best for beginners without the "only ever ski-ed once" loonatics who think there are ready for the next world cup race - knocking you over..........

I would probably go to austria or switzerland. they have the best snow on earth next to utah

Usually on a mountain side high up so it gets a covering of snow
