Where is a good place to have a 50th birthday party for my Dad?

Need to find a place like the pavilion to rent to throw the party. Need to be at 500 for the night

a pavilion at a local city/county park would be nice, depending on the weather/season where you live.  I don't know how much they cost where you live. Here, the small community parks are much cheaper than the city parks.

do you have a community center? We have community centers that have rooms available to rent -- such as for wedding receptions, or retirement parties, etc. They are usually pretty cheap.

Are you a member of a church? They will often rent you their facility for a small fee, if so.

Some restaurants have back "meeting" rooms, that they rent for low cost or no cost, if there will be people eating.

HotMama knows what she's talking about. You could also call country clubs, party/function houses, and hotels.

When I saw your question headline, before reading the rest of the question, I immediately thought of a BBQ restaurant - they have such a good-time atmosphere, and they're popular with men. But it sounds like this is a big party you're planning. Good luck! And how sweet of you to organize it! :D
