Where is a good place to learn to Kayak? I live in Southern California.?

I live in Southern California and would like to learn to kayak, I want to take a class somewhere around here, and I am looking for reccomendations of a kayaking school that is good. I just want to take a few classes.

If you want lessons from a school, try "Sierra South Kayaking School "- They are the oldest, largest, and most experienced kayaking school in Southern California.

I learned to Kayak by joining a club.  It's a good way to network with other boaters, get free lessons, and is usually an excellent source for finding affordable boats and gear.

Check out this boat club,"California Kayak Friends".  If they're not in your area, I'm sure they can hook you up with a club that is closer to you.

LaJolla is great!  You can rent kayaks and go around the shores/cove/cave... and I think there are a lot of trips down to Baja that you can sign up for.  I'm assuming you want to ocean kayak because other than that, there are not too many options.
