  1. The Rex Hotel is closed too, unless you want to stay in a pile of rubble...

There a lots of nice places that you can stay at that are fairly reasonable in price. Try www.lastminute.com.au...

    Good luck...

  2. check out: wotif.com.au (they have great deals)

  3. Check and see if www.hotels2go.com.au have anything available? They only launched on Friday but I've seen about 50 new hotels join since Friday and as it has only been a couple of days, I really do think they are shaping up to be a good thing. Goodluck with your search and have a great holiday!

  4. I always stay at The Forrest Inn

Don't be put off by the corporate look. It's the cheapest and best deal in Canberra for what you get and is right near Parliament House. The breakfasts are the best bit. Ask for a room with a view of the park, they are the nicest. It is also listed on sites like need it now etc., so you can always get a good deal.

  5. Rex Motel is pretty cheap and is a convenient location.

  6. i suggest the ff:

Hotel Kurrajong (http://www.hotelkurrajong.com.au) - it's $210 per double, inclusive of deluxe accommodation and breakfast

Parkway Motel - this one is a lot cheaper and ideal for an overnight, or a day or two trip. rates, i believe starts at 80+ AUD only. check out their website: http://www.parkwaymotel.com.au

  7. the forrest inn

  8. The city walk hotel is good. It is right in the heart of the city. It is a backpackers place but you can get rooms with your own bathroom etc. Or go to www.wotif.com.au

  9. The Forrest Inn is a dive.

If you want cheap stay at the Formula 1, costs around $60 a night, clean but small and simple. Breakfast and meal options available.

If you want up-market Medina Executive James Court is my fave, with beautiful spacious apartments, for around $160 a night

  10. All the hotels in Australia participate in these types of sites. They'll give you the best deals, prices , maps and freebies to work it out easily for yourself :
