We stayed in a camping ground - called Plus Camping Alba D'oro - it was one of the best places we have stayed at.

Swimming pool, bar, lots of fun people, entertainment on some nights, shuttle bus to Venice lido (where all the canals are), snack shop, restaurant.  You have the choice of staying in ready made tents, bungalows, cabins etc.  All for a great price.

Plus you will see they have way more facilities than I have noted up top - way more!!!  From there you can check out other Plus Campings in Italy - we tried 3 (Venice, Rome and Florence).  All were just great for meeting people, nice accommodation, fun.  And we are old buggars (48)!!!
