Where is a good place to stay in Acapulco?

Question

Big bay, and don't know where to stay.

What part of town is good to stay in for a week?

Thinking down town area.

Comments or suggestions?

There are several options it really depends on the moeny.

Best hotels: Camino real, Mayan Palace, Melía, Princess.

Medium Hotels; Holiday Inn, Fiesta Americana, Ritz,

Cheap Hotels, there are plenty on the malecon (principal road) and you would have to check them out first.

I stay at Hotel Doria. It's in the center of the bay near Wal Mart and the Hooters . $40 a night ,no frills, and the 4 or 5 people that work there are friendly and like family. The cook is great and I had full access to the fridge for my beer. Close to the beach. Try the Crowne Plaza. Its realy nice. Downtown ........ not such a good idea.
