  1. Cool, we're stationed in Hohenfels.  I'd suggest you see if you can get into the Edelweiss and do the Garmisch thing.  It is truly great.  Try the white water rafting, loads of fun.

There are plenty of day trips you can do, too, it really depends on your interests.  There is sooo much history out there.  Go check your Outdoor Rec there, they usually offer some trips as well.

  2. Heidelberg and their castles, and Mannheim

  3. Schloss Herrenchiemsee (Chiemsee near Muenchen). This castle was also built by Ludwig II like Neuschwanstein. However, Herrenchiemsee is bigger and is like the Château de Versailles in France.

  4. I might be biased but I would recommend travelling to the Black Forest. Loads of lovely scenery, scrummy food, sunshine (Freiburg is offically the sunniest town in Germany!) and generally nice people. The pace of life is much slower than in other parts of Germany and it's often compared to Tuscany. You can also nip over to France or to Switzerland on day trips.

  5. Schloss Neuschwanstein

  6. I would go to Augsburg. Beautiful place and full of old history too. The town is like disney world with all of the colors, the ppl are very friendly, and it has great night life. Bars are turned into discos, and other discos are close by. The town is also known for it's great food, shopping, and Mozarts father lived there. So did a few poets. You could also go to the opera house and watch some theatre if you want! And if you get bored there, go to Muenchen! It's only a 45 minute train ride from Augsburg trainstation

  7. Get away from the big cities and visit the small towns. So much nicer and quieter. If you want to see the big cities  then visit Heidelberg...very pretty! Cologne is a good place to visit too.

  8. There is a Monastery near Wildficken called Kuertzberg. It's a nice place to visit. From March until November they make fresh beer everyday. And it has been voted the World's best beer for 3 or 4 years now by a magazine(I think it's Maxim). Also try the Sato on post. They have a few weekend trips to nearby places and to other countries. And if you want to have some water fun try Palm Springs in Nurnberg. It's an indoor water park. You might enjoy the Fortress or the Residenz in Warzberg. And stop in downtown at the Pizza Hut there. It is ten times better than America's Pizza Hut's. Don't go to Holiday Park near Frankfurt, it's nothing but a waste of time and money. I heard though that Euro-Park is really good. And lastly, you HAVE to go to Rothenberg. It is the last medieval city in Germany. Have Fun traveling!
