  1. That's a super vague question.  Vacation spot where?  East Cost?  West Coast?  Australia?   Check out the surf camp schedules from Quik and Billabong and find someplace that appeals to you.

Most shops have camps as well but you gotta figure out where your going first.

  2. any where basicly. all you really need is waves. but if you want sunny weather to surf in. go to cailiforna or hawaii

  3. california?

  4. The question is way too broad. How much money can you spend on vacation? How long can you stay? Most US resort beaches (East, West & Gulf Coasts and the Hawaiian islands) have surfing communities. The link to these surfing communities is the local surf shop. Surf shops can turn you onto to lessons, and even rent you a board to learn on. I am vaquely familiar with the situation in Australia and Mexico, and it is relatively similar. Find a resort with a surfable beach, and you can find a place (and people) to facilitate learning how to surf.

However, it is only fair warning, that unless you are already pretty much a 'waterman' (or woman as the case may be), you will have great fun, but it takes a lot more than a week or so to learn how to surf (for real). Good, luck, and have fun....next time tell us a little bit about you, and we can give you better answers.

  5. You want a forgiving wave and a great instructor.  There are a couple of good schools in Huntington but my suggestion is to go to the Big Island in Hawaii and have a lesson from Rory Russell.  A world champion surfer he now resides in Kona and will get you into a wave and on your feet the first day.  there is nothing like learning from a pro and that he certainly is.   Have fun!
