I'm looking for a place with a sandy beach, a few sleeping options, a small town and not too difficult or time-consuming to get to. Sleeping options could include an all-inclusive place, a small resort or hotel. Easy to get to means a cab or bus ride from the airport. Thanks for any suggestions.

  1. Playa Azul in Michoacan.

    Bahías de Huatulco in Oaxaca.

    Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca.

Punta de Mitla in Nayarit (20 minutes from Vallarta).

    Manzanillo in Colima.

Punta Diamante (20 minutes from Acapulco).

Isla Mujeres (off the coast of Quintana Roo).

    Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo

All of these places are quiet and calm, the beach is great and it is not so crowded as other touristic places.

  2. Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mx is one of the nicest coastal cities in all of mexico! It is a bigger citie yet not as touristic as a Cancun or Pt. Vallarta! There are plenty of small resorts and hotels and since it is a big port there is world class fresh seafood! If tranquility is what your looking for you'll want to travel about 15 to 20 miles up the coast and you'll find plenty of open beach and places to stay! It is just a short cab ride away! There are several beaches and many miles of sand along the Tampico coast! Good luck!

  3. Well its not on the beach but Morelia is quiet and nice

  4. Check out http://www.differentworld.com/

This site has some amazing destinations in Mexico!

Two years ago I stayed at El Tamarindo near Manzanillo. It took about 30 minutes by cab from the airport to get to. The place is clean, small, and very secluded.

    Have fun wherever you go!

  5. My husband and my have been to Cosumel, Mexico 4 times.  It is exactly what you've described, and we can't wait to go back.  It's actually an island located 50 miles south of Cancun.
