  1. I'd offer a recommendation for Sushi Taro in Dupont (1503 17th Street NW -- 17th & P Streets NW -- 202.462.8999); the place in Palisades is Kotobuki (4822 MacArthur Boulevard / 202.625.9080) -- I've not eaten there but friends rave about it.

We have also come to regularly enjoy Moby d**k Sushi and Sashimi in Wheaton (11220 Triangle Lane, Silver Spring MD / 301.949.3910) after searching it out upon rave reviews posted on Chowhound.com and the Washington Post.

  2. There's also a place called Wasabi near Farragat North that I'd recommend.

  3. The best places are Kaz (a little bit more of a nouveau take on sushi), Sushi Ko, and Sushi Taro.  Sushi Taro is probably the cheapest and most casual of those three, though it's not especially cheap.  It's also easily accessible, right at 17th and P.  The atmosphere's not great but for casual sushi in DC it's hard to beat.

  4. There are two I recommend:  Spices and Sushi Ko.

Spices in Cleveland park is the most reasonably priced with half off on wine and drinks from 5-7.  We usually show up at 6:30 when you can start to park on Connecticut.  Staff is great and allows us to easily modify the menu to adapt to our pallet.

Sushi Co in Glover Park is also good.  Trendier than Spices it is great sushi but a little more costlier.

A lot of people have recommended a place on McArthur that is good and near the Safeway.  Can not remember the name nor can I testify to how good it is.
