You've got your loud tacky bars in the grass market if you want to rough it, or your more sophiticated bars on george street. Fantastic shopping for the girls during the day (Harvey Nicks, Cruise, Jenners etc), loads of travel lodges and travel inns so it doesnt get expensive and brillaint restaurants for all tastes.

I live in Newcastle and love the night life here, but Edinburgh is fantastic.

When you do go out, please do not use one of those Witches Wagons (Stretch limo with vocally and cerebral challenged females cackling out the window) and a veil with an L plate. Just for the rest of us alright? And I would recommend Doncaster or Newcastle. I wouldn't go there myself mind, but they are the centre for that sort of activity. And have good STD clinics (allegedly)

Nottingham. there are some great bars and clubs. It's been voted one of the best cities for nightlife in the country!
