Mongolian BBQ, Lucky's Steakhouse (Imlay City), and there's a nice restaurant, "Michelle's / Sweetheart Bakery" in Sterling Heights.  Wonderful place and great bakery.  I travel 3 hours one way just to go there!

Big Rock Chophouse, A good place to eat and then have a great fun date and a couple drinks would Dave and Busters, Charley's Crab, Fishbones

I think if you don't want to ask them, you totally want to go all out and surprise them...

the coach insignia on the 71 and 72 floor of the Renaissance Center is probably one of your best bets.
