Where is a nice and fun place to have a 21st birthday dinner? Not a chain restaurant like Friday's?

I'd like to bring a cake and stuff, so I doubt really fancy would be the way to go. But somewhere nice, local, fun. Any ideas? My birthday is next Saturday. Thanks!

d**k's Last Resort is always fun if you like a rowdy night

Starlite Lounge is new, and I hear is a fun place.

94th Aero Squadron is fun too if you don't want to be downtown.

South Beach bar and grill in Ocean beach - ask them if your party can have the back porch.

Order a LOT of mahi tacos and enjoy the beer now that you're 21.  The only caveat is that EVERYONE has to be 21.

If anyone's over 21, go to World Famous in Pacific Beach.  lilght prices, fantastic food!

My girlfriend had her bday party at the starlite, it was nice and they have a cool back (outside) area and they let us bring a cake :)

My family and I went to Rancho Bernardo to a place called The Elephant Bar. their food is really good too

it depends on how much you want to spend. i went to the hard rock downtown in the gaslamp quarter. i've heard the shout house is fun and ***** last resort. people like chain restaurants like tgifs though b/c their drinks are inexpensive and their alcohol is strong. if you go downtown you'll be spending $10 on avg for a drink where they skimp majorly on the alcohol.
